PAST DELEGATIONS and EVENTS:

 

REYNOSA, TAMAULIPAS (Fall 2006)

October 12, 2006 - Orientation meeting in offices of WOB, Inc. in Austin, Texas 4-8 pm.

October 13, 2006 - 9 am departure from Austin to McAllen, Texas and crossing into Mexico.

   Evening: meet with members of the Comité Fronterizo de Obreras (CFO), worker activists in the maquiladoras.

October 14, 2006 - tour industrial parks and workers' housing (colonias); dine with worker activist who fought and won a grievance against abusive employer (home cooking).

October 15, 2006 - closing meeting in local restaurant, shopping in the mercado, INS border checkpoint and drive back to Austin, Texas.

October 16, 2006 - Illinois students fly back to Chicago.
